Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween polish lovers!! We here at Nail Addicted Sisters have thrown together two spooky looks for your viewing pleasure.

First up is Vicky's mani. She used a skull decal from Ulta and freehanded a spiderweb. The rest of the nails are Something Wicked from Glitter Guilty.

Then we have Erika's spooktacular creation. She recreated some Nightmare Before Christmas nail art inspired by a few different pics on Pinterest. This was all done freehand using nail art brushes.

We hope you all have a happy Halloween. If you'd like to know more specific info on the polishes we used please don't hesitate to ask.

Blue is the new Black

I'm really excited to share this nail art mani. I'm so happy with the results of this in so many ways, hence the barrage of pics.

This is one of my many cobalt blues, my fav nail polish color I would say, OPI Swimwuit...Nailed It!. I used a long, thin nail art brush to freehand the vertical stripe using Avon Brushed Metal Platinum. This is a textured polish, but you would never know after a hefty dose of HK Girl top coat.

I think the vertical line gives the effect that my nails are longer than they are, however my nails ARE the longest they have EVER been in my whole life. I had artificial nails for many years and they ruined my nails. Besides that, I also think my nails need a lot of help to grow well.

Since starting this blog I have started doing many different things to take better care of my nails and cuticles. And almost 11 months later I am finally seeing some results. I have been using OPI Nail Envy along with Bliss Kiss Pure Nail Oil or Miracle Oil as I like to call it.

Back to this fantabulous mani! I almost feel like a superhero wearing it!!

I actually thought of this design myself, so I was really excited when I was finished to see that it looked as good on my hands as it did in my head.

This best part about this mani, like most of the nail art I do, is it was so EASY!! Ain't no body got time for crazy time consuming nail art!!

Hope you all have a great week. :)

Dash Dot Dash Dot.... Morse Code for Nails!

Dot dot, dash, dot, dash.... It's Morse Code! I don't claim to know how to translate this pattern of dashes and dots, but in a perfect world it would say "Awesome Nails"!  This design is inspried by a similar design I came across several months ago (but I can't remember where!) and I wanted to give it a try.

I painted my nails with Revlon Lily.  Then I used Essie Smokin' Hot and Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet to create the design with a nail art brush and a dotting tool.  I topped it off with NYC Matte Me Crazy topcoat.

It isn't perfect up close but still looks pretty cool and different.

Me and the family are off to Florida for a few days so my sister and I may be off the grid this weekend.  We would love for you to show off your nail art pics on our Facebook page!

My First Glitter Guilty Subscription Box!

My first Glitter Guilty box came last week and I finally had time to try everything out.  It came with one full size custom polish and a mini polish that comes with every sub box.  In addition to the polishes, Jessica at Glitter Guilty throws in a guilty pleasure like chocolate or other treats.  The box is $15.99 including shipping and handling and you can cancel at any time.  This month had some yummy stuff from DCS (Dipped Covered & Smothered) Chocolates.  Mine had a chocolate covered Oreo and a chocolate covered graham cracker, both with fun fall sprinkles.  I don't have a picture of them because I ate them, oops!  But trust me, they were YUMMY!  On to the polishes...

This is Something Wicked, which came with every sub box this month.  It's one of Jessica's Halloween creations with a black jelly base, purple micro glitter, and purple and green circle and hex glitters.  This is a crazy awesome color combo for Halloween and I definitely plan on using this again later in the month.

Macro of Something Wicked....

This is Surfer Girl.  Jessica made this custom polish based on the profile I filled out.  It is a clear-based glitter with small and large pink glitters, large blue glitters and silver shards.  I layered it on top of Zoya Dove.  Isn't it beautiful?!

Macro of Surfer Girl...

This is my favorite sub box out of all of the brands we have tried.  We all deserve some of our guilty pleasures every month and this one included two of mine, polish and chocolate!  I can't wait to see what comes next month!  Check out Jessica's gorgeous creations and sign up for your own box over at Glitter Guilty.

Put A Ring On It?

Again, my attempt at nail art....

I know, I know, practice makes perfect. Whatever! I just don't understand how some people can do nail art so PERFECTLY. Like straight, proportioned, every nail EXACTLY the same and just perfect looking. It just seems impossible!!

I used my fav nail blogger for inspiration again, Dressed Up Nails. See her perfection here. She describes her bling as necklaces. I think mine look more like rings on my nails because they are more straight across and less curved like hers.

I did this mani last week when we are having an Indian Summer and temps in the 80s here in NY, so I thought I would use some lighter polishes. My favorite mint, Zoya Neely, Julep Alaina and for the bling, Essie Beyond Cozy.

I also used a glequins from Born Pretty Store in the center of my ring to make it look more like real jewelry. Can you see it?? No?? Haha. Me either. In the tub they looked like a beautiful opal that i thought would be perfect for a diamond effect. When I picked up a single glequin it just about disappeared and was almost impossible to place on the nail.

Overall, I was happy with my efforts, even though they weren't perfect. :)

We're waiting on a huge haul from Born Pretty Store that includes some fun decals which will scratch the need for any freehand nail art. THANK GOODNESS!!

Call Me Sugar... YouPolish!

I received my first YouPolish box last month and I finally had a chance to use the lovely glitter polish that came in it.  I have so many awesome polishes I've purchased over the past month that I haven't used yet, yikes!  Maybe it's time to take a break from buying until I catch up... maybe?

Call Me Sugar has a clear base with pink and silver multi-sized glitters and holographic hearts and butterflies.  I put it on top of 2 coats of Revlon Rich Raspberry

The butterflies and hearts are so cute!  There was a lot of fishing involved to get those little suckers on the brush because they all sit on the bottom of the bottle, but I managed to get one on each nail.

This polish looks great on top of the raspberry shade.  I also want to try it on something darker, maybe a deep purple?

YouPolish has great boxes that go on sale in the middle of each month and come with 2 full sized bottles plus bonus items for $16.99.  I didn't get the  October box because I just signed up for Glitter Guilty (post about that to come this week too) but I definitely want to get another box from YouPolish in the near future.  If you don't want to commit to a monthly subscription, this is the way to go.  Check out her page here.

And a macro!!

Hope everyone is having a great week!  xoxo Vicky

Wingin It Lacquer Product Review and Swatches

**All products were provided for an honest review

Wingin' It Lacquer generously sent us a package of six polishes to review.  That's right, SIX polishes!  After browsing Wingin' It's Etsy shop I was impressed by the variety in her collection: shimmers, holos, glitters and jellies.  Now let's get swatching!!

✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩

First up is Perfectly Plum, a sweet mauve holo.

Check out that shimmer! This applied so even and smooth, I didn't want to take it off!

✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩

Next up is Dragon's Eye, a burnt red with gold shimmer.  It reminds me of the colors of the changing leaves.

You can really see the gold shimmer in the macro shot.

✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩

This one is Razzberry Fizz, a bright blue with green and pink shimmer.

The shimmer looks more silver but at the right angle the green is very obvious and the pink is subtle.

✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩

Next is Fiona, a chunky light green with pink, purple and blue bar, square and hex glitter.  The base is a little thick so the glitter doesn't pop as much as I would like.

This one is named after the most beautiful ogre of all, Princess Fiona!

✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩

Here we have Midnight Obsession, a purple jelly with blue, green purple and pink glitter in various sizes.  This was one of my favorites from the bunch because it was so glittery and I really like the color combination of the glitters and the deep purple base.

Check out that macro! This stuff really sparkles!

✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩

Last up is Coraline, a polish that is so sparkly you could be in a dark room and it would still shine.  This scattered holo is my absolute favorite of all of the polishes we received.

This stuff is packed with glitter!

✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩✭✩

All in all, I think Wingin' It Lacquer makes some great polishes.  There are a few others from her collection that I have my eyes on.  She has a great deal on her minis, 3 for $10 and full size bottles are $9.  Check out the Wingin' It Lacquer Etsy shop here.

What's your Fetish?

Can nail polish be considered a fetish?? LOL

Some of you may recognize this AMAZING polish by Cult Nails, Fetish. It's a jet black with a rubber finish.

Not only is this a stunning looking polish, but it has the most amazing application of any polish I've ever used. To quote Barbara Streisand, "It's like buttah!" It's so smooth and creamy!!

The other thing that was amazing about this polish was the clean up. Usually when you get a little BLACK polish on your cuticles it makes a mess, stains and it's sometimes there until you remove the manicure. Not this polish. I used a nail art brush to touch up around my nails with acetone and the polish came off CLEAN!! I was amazed!!

The accent color I used is Avon Brushed Metal Dusty Copper. This line from Avon is a textured polish. I HATE TEXTURED POLISHES.  When I saw these there was something about them that intrigued me. I love metallics, so I had to try them.

You can see that the polish isn't as textured as the sand based polishes, like the Zoya Pixies. I bought 4 of these polishes because I really loved them. You'll be seeing them soon!!

This is one of my favorite manis I've done in a long time. Fetish is INSANE!! I was hesitant when getting it because I'm not one to get multiples of colors I already have. (Haha who am I kidding!) I can just put a matte top coat on my OPI Onyx and achieve the same effect, right?? WRONG!!! This polish is so much more than a matte. I just love it!!!

I had to include so many pics because I just couldn't narrow them down.

I snagged Fetish during Cults Nails flash sale on Friday the 13th (Buy 1 Get 1 Free). The other polish I got is Flushed LE. Can't wait to show it to you guys!!!
