Rhinestones & Lace

When we receive products to review, my sister Vicky and I (Erika) have to figure out who is going to get what. We received a package from Born Pretty Store, an online beauty and nail art supply store, an epic rhinestone wheel was included. I knew I had to get my hands on it!

There are three different sizes of clear rhinestones. There are so many pieces included in this wheel for under $5 that I can't imagine ever using all of them.

I wanted to do something out of my comfort zone, so I tried some freehand nail art. I started with 2 coats of Zoya Neely, my new favorite mint green. Then with an art brush I painted on 2 coats of Julep Billie Jean is sort of an 'S' curve. With a thin striping brush I added a little glitz with Essie Beyond Cozy.

The final bling comes with the rhinestones. On the accent nail I applied the rhinestones from large to small. On every other nail I just added the largest rhinestone at the base. I like to use nail glue to attach these kinds of things because they last a lot longer. Finished off with 2 coats of top coat and there you have it!

This wasn't the neatest mani I ever did, but I was still pleased with it. I'm IN LOVE with my rhinestone wheel and I will definitely be getting a lot of use out of it!! Get it here.

Not to be outdone,  I (Vicky) used a set of black lace water decals that Born Pretty sent to create this masterpiece.  This is the first time I have used water decals and I'm in love!!

These decals are really easy to apply and you can customize them to get the look you want.  The decals come in thick strips and I cut them down to make the diagonal french and used a fuller section of the strip for the accent nail.  Applying them is similar to putting on a fake tattoo- with a moist paper towel, except once the paper is moist you can slide the decal off and position it on your nail.

My base coat is Essie No Baggage Please, the perfect pastel pink for summer!  I'm really happy with how this mani turned out and I am looking forward to using these decals again.  They are great for people who want a quick and easy nail design or for those who might struggle with freehand nail art (Like my sister...hehehe!).  Born Pretty Store has a huge selection of lace strips and other fun patterns which can be found here.
