Superchic Lacquers Giveaway WIN!

When it comes to giveaways my motto is, you gotta be in it to win it! I have been winning giveaways left and right. Some I keep, some I give to friends. I have tried to enter more giveaways so that I don't spend as much on polish. And it has been working!

This is an amazing polish I won from a giveaway hosted by Naked Without PolishSecond Star to the Right by Superchic Lacquer is and amazing blue polish with hot pink glitter in multiple sizes.  As part of this prize, I also won Never Grow Up (not shown). Both of these polishes are a part of the Where Dreams Are Born Collection.

I gotta have an accent nail!! This bright pink is Zoya Ali with a glitter topper from Indie Polish, Clash-tastic. This is a perfect mix of glitters!

I haven't worn a glitter polish in a long time and I love the way this all came together. Removal was a whole other story!

Don't forget to check out our giveaway page for tons of up-to-date giveaways going on across the nail polish world. I usually update this page on a daily basis or whenever I seen a new giveaway!

Good Luck!

Kiss Me I'm Brazilian!

Ok so I'm not Brazilian... I'm Italian and German, but my nail polish is all Brazilian!  OPI came out with a Brazil line this Spring and it is B-E-A-Utiful!  It took all of my will power to only buy one shade from the line and I'm sure I'll snatch up another before Summer comes.  I have my eye on Toucan Do It If You Try or Live.Love.Carnival.  Both are very similar shades of red-coral creme and they are like no other polish in my collection.

As you can see from the title of this post, my first choice from the OPI Brazil collection is Kiss Me I'm Brazilian.

This is a gorgeous pink creme with a slight coral hue to it.  The polish applied very smoothly, no streakiness here!

I chose to add some funk to my mani by adding the leopard print accent nail.  I love doing a leopard print because it's easy, even for those who don't have the gift of free-hand nail art.  I simply used a nail art brush with black polish to create the irregular circles and semicircles.  After letting that dry I filled them in with some turquoise nail art paint to give it extra neon flair.

I highly recommend this shade and all of the others in the OPI Brazil line.  This is a great summer mani that I will certainly play around with by using other color combos.

What's your favorite color from the OPI Brazil line?

Poshinality Lovelies

I had the pleasure of reviewing a new-to-me indie brand. And it blew me away!! The best part of being a nail blogger is learning about new brands, and getting the opportunity to try them.

Poshinality Old Soul is a silver metallic foil polish.
These types of polishes can easily be a dud-streaking and showing every minor flaw on your nail bed being the biggest complaints. This polish, however, has an amazing formula.

Old Soul applies smooth and even. Shown is two coats with no top coat.

Just don't get this polish on your cuticle area! It was a bit difficult to get the tiny metallic pieces off during clean up.

I'm so glad to be able to add this amazing silver to my collection.

Poshinality Chic is a BEAUTIFUL peachy-coral creme polish. It definitely leans more on the peachy side.

(outdoor lighting)

The formula for this creme was perfect. Again, no streaking, which is very common with this kind of polish. Shown is two coats with top coat!

(indoor lighting with flash)

It was hard to capture the beautiful vibrance of this color with natural lighting, so I've included some flash pics. These represent a more color accurate pic.

I got a ton of compliments on this polish. I think my new favorite Spring color is CORAL and this polish does not disappoint!

Visit Poshinality to see more of their fabulous polishes, including their new Spring Collection.

Have a happy weekend!!

Daily Charme Water Decals

There's nothing better than spending a lot of time doing a great manicure and then having people notice it. It makes it worth all the effort when others notice and are wowed by your work.

Daily Charme has a huge assortment of water decals. These were sent to us to try in the giveaway package they sponsored for us. I was so excited to try them on my new, longer nails!

I started this mani out with a base of Zoya Neely, an awesome mint shade! After that was completely dry I added the water decals. This beautiful pattern is called Spring Blossoms.

These decals come in a single sheet that you cut to fit each nail. This makes the application a little more time consuming. What I like about it though is that you can switch up the pattern on each nail depending on where you cut it. And water decals are amazing because they lie so flat on your nail it looks like it was hand painted. I had quite a few people ask me if they were stickers!

This was one of those manis I don't want to take off!

Check out Daily Charme for some amazing nail art supplies and polishes!

Have a happy weekend!

Aly's Dream Polish Review

I've had the opportunity to try holos from many different brands, indie and mainstream. The thing that is most deceiving about holos in general is that they tend to only show there beautiful twinkle in direct sunlight and fall completely flat otherwise.

I was sent some holo lovelies to review from Aly's Dream Polish. All the pics in this post were taken in direct sunlight to show their ultimate beauty. I can assure you though, that all of these polishes looked beautiful in indoor lighting as well.

First up is Sweet Dreams, a light pinkish/purple with lots of holographic pigments.

Shown here is two coats of polish with one coat of top coat. This polish is on the sheer side and could use three coats for more opacity. I kinda like the sheerness of it though, so light and fluffy.

The formula was good, but you have to work a bit quickly or the polish will drag a bit. I find that to be typical with linear holos.

Close ups do a holo GOOD!!

Next up is Tiffanytea. This polish has a little more green in it than blue to me, which I LOVE!!

Shown is two coats of polish with one coat of top coat.

The formula for this one was similar to Sweat Dreams. Although this polish has a lot more pigment and was opaque in two coats.

I absolutely adore this color and can't wait to try it with some stamping over it!!!

Lastly is Ocean, a gorgeous teal blue holo.

This also shows two coats of polish with one coat of top coat. Formula was perfection!

I think this was my favorite polish of the three. It's so vibrant and beautiful, a perfect Spring color!

Overall I LOVED all these polishes!! Aly's Dream Polish has every holo color you can imagine! If you're looking for something specific, I can guarantee you'll find it there.

The Most PERFECT Mint and a Little Lace

The search is over.  I found the absolutely perfect mint polish!  My favorite used to be Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet but the formula is very thick, goopy and difficult to apply evenly.  Then came along Essie Absolutely Shore...

The color is spot on.  It's exactly what you want in a mint shade.  It's not too light, not too dark.  Plus, it applies evenly and doesn't get streaky like many light cream colors.  This formula is somewhat thin so I needed 3 coats to achieve full opacity.  As always, Essie has the cutest polish names and this one is so clever!

The nail decals I used are from The Born Pretty Store.  Decals are the simplest way to achieve a bold look with minimal effort.  These particular decals were a bit tricky because they shrunk and spread a little after applying top coat.  Most of them came out perfect but the thumb decal spread and my middle finger shrunk and bunched on the tip a little, which you can see in the photo below.  Of course, these imperfections are only noticeable close up.  You can find a ton of great nail decals at the Born Pretty Store here.  They are so cheap, between $1 and $4 per pack.  And be sure to use our 10% off coupon code located at the bottom of this post!

Mint green is one of my favorite shades for Spring and Summer.  I am excited to use this one over and over again in the coming months.  I think it would make a great base for an aztec design.

Please share your favorite mint green shades in the comments section!
